Is my identity kept anonymous?

Anonymity is the point of this site, not a feature bolted on. We never ask for a real name, an email or an ID, and we want it that way just as much as you do. Every account is a throwaway minted on the spot, each listing gets a unique public code for tracking the swap, and a swap is tracked with per-party codes that reveal only your role (seller or buyer), never an identity. Your privacy is our privacy.

What happens if the other side never deposits?

A swap only completes when both sides fund in full. If the funding deadline passes with a side still short, it gets a chance to fund up; if it still hasn't, the swap is cancelled and every deposit that actually arrived is refunded to its depositor.

I lost my account code - can I get back in?

Your account code is your key and cannot be recovered if lost, so keep it somewhere safe - it is shown on your private Account page and kept in the browser you used, so you can sign back in at any time. Listing and swap tracking codes let you track a swap but never unlock your account. Sign in on the Sign in page with your account code - or from the same browser, which keeps your code filled in - and you're back in.

My coins sit in escrow - are they really safe?

Every deposit address is a real keypair held in mediator escrow, and payouts are broadcast from it. There is no bank or exchange in the middle asking who you are - the mediator only knows your swap codes, never your identity. By default confirmations run on a simulated backend; with PAX_NETWORK=live and real node endpoints, deposits and payouts go to the actual chain.

Why does the site mention JavaScript?

The site is fully server-rendered HTML & CSS and works with JavaScript disabled - every form, the CAPTCHA and the notification tray function without it. Enabling JavaScript only upgrades the experience: smoother auto-refresh, the unread notification badge, the alert chime and countdowns. Nothing about your funds depends on it.

How long is my data kept?

Swaps, listings and problem reports are deleted automatically 7 days after they are created - along with their escrow records, ledger and notifications. Sponsor order rows stay as purchase history, but the payment data (address, txid, received amount) is scrubbed after 7 days. Code accounts are temp accounts: one is created for you on your first post or swap, and it is retired 7 days after your last activity. Your account code can still pull it back up within that window; after that, the swap's records remain only as the counterparty's evidence, with no link to you.

Can I delete my account?

There is nothing to delete - a code account holds no data beyond the listings and swaps it was minted for. Your account code is your key to it, and the account retires on its own 7 days after your last activity; your listings disappear when they are taken or expire. The only records that survive are swaps that also serve as the other party's evidence, and those keep no link to you at all. Anonymity includes the right to disappear - nothing points back to you.

What is this site for?

Pax Monero is an anonymous, mediator-based platform for swapping crypto between two people: post a listing for what you sell and what you want in return, another user accepts it, and the mediator brokers the exchange - deposit escrow, confirmations, commission and automatic settlement. Common uses are trading coins you hold for coins you want, with no identity or trust in the counterparty required. We built it around anonymity and run it that way: no KYC, no emails, no real names, no IP, no metadata - ever. Income is generated solely through sponsorships. Although we do not have an atomic swap system, we are a mediator swap site that will never share logs and deletes them.
